Sira started illustrating children’s books a couple of years ago. She trained as an actress, but has been drawing, sculpting, painting, cooking and telling stories since she was a very small child. Back then she sat under her mother’s sewing table, drawing like mad, while dreaming of alternative worlds, portals, and friends with enormous faces the shape of a moon…

 

Sira was born in Copenhagen, but grew up in the Philippines and Sri Lanka, where she quickly developed a taste for chilli plus English and American childrens literature. She spent a decade in London, before returning to Denmark, where she met her Swedish husband, Rickard. The couple live in a small flat in Copenhagen with their two, very naughty, little boys.

 

Sira plays the saw and eats chocolate in her spare time.
