At the cinema, Magda pulls at dad's sleeve.
"Shouldn't we buy sweets too?"
Dad nods.
"And soda," says Magda.
Dad orders a small soda for Magda. Magda would rather have one of the big ones. But dad doesn't think it's a good idea. "Then you'll just need to pee right in the middle of the film," he says.
Magda laughs. "When I'm at the cinema with mum, I always get a big soda, and I never have to pee in the middle of the film."
"Is that true?"
"Of course its true!"

Why do grown-ups always get to decide how many clothes to put on, and how much salt or jam to have on your sandwich? Magda doesn't get it. Neither does she get why grown-ups don't jump in puddles, and why you can't just create your own seasonal feast, if you feel you generally get too little chocolate.

When you, like Magda, partly live with dad and partly live with mum, Friday becomes quite the packing day. Magda needs to remember to put her raincoat and wellies in the bag. Plus extra socks, and her bicycle helmet and the teddy bears. But why stop here, when dad’s salami tastes so much better, than the one mum and Anders buy? And when you easily start to miss the soft carpet under your feet at mum’s?
